Welcome to the Québec electricity demand Dashboard, an electricity literacy endeavor from the Chair in Energy Sector Management at HEC Montréal. This public project is designed to empower researchers and scientists with access to real-time electricity demand data from Hydro-Québec, facilitating the understanding of markets and the advancement of future developments. Our initiative features comprehensive real-time data capture from the Hydro-Québec website, several insightful market dashboards, and a dedicated API for researchers. All project infrastructure, including servers and databases, is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), guaranteeing unparalleled data security, availability, and processing speed. We also appreciate Highcharts for providing us with an educational license for their responsive, fast, and accurate charts.

Raw data is published every 15 minutes, and hourly data calculations are based on specific intervals. Each hourly figure is derived by averaging the data from all relevant quarter-hour intervals. For instance, the hourly demand for 1:00 AM is determined by averaging the values recorded at 1:00, 1:15, 1:30, and 1:45.
